Sir Stirling Moss, 1955.
During the practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix, here driving the wonderful Mercedes W196, which saw its engine upgraded to 2.9 liters in that same year (with around 310bhp to give, not too shabby for its time).
Moss and Fangio were the very first “Like a Boss” men in history.

Stirling Moss drives a piece of history — the Ferguson P99, the first of the four-wheel drive cars in Formula 1.

And mind you, this is one of the greatest pictures I’ve come across.

Don’t mind this, it’s just a picture of an old man with an old car.
It just so happens that his name is Sir Stirling Moss and the car is a Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta. There is much win in this picture.

Ferguson P99 (1960)
In 1960, Ferguson Research wanted to show the world their new 4x4 system and saw a chance to do so in Grand Prix races. It was designed to have a 50:50 weight distribution and the engine at the front, which was a 4 cylinder 150cc Climax.
It was first raced in 1961 at the hands of (Sir) Stirling Moss, which won the Formula 1 Oulton Park. He later described it as the best F1 car he had ever raced.
As with all outstand achievements in Formula 1 history, 4x4 wheel systems were soon banned.
