Aside from the engine (which was from Daimler itself), badges and minor interior details, the Daimler 2.5 was otherwise the very same car as a Jaguar Mk II.

Daimler SP250 (1959)
Daimler’s attempt at something genuinely good, rather than just Ok. The SP250 got a 2.5 litre V8 engine and a fiberglass body, which kept the weight just under 950kg, and that was pretty remarkable.
Its sleek and rather unique looks helped the competition it was facing against the E Type. I don’t know if its actually easy on the eye, but its most definitely distinctive. Remember Daimler for the SP250.
